Weekend at Grandma's

Braylon went on his first road trip this past weekend with mommy and daddy to help them celebrate their fourth year anniversary. First, we drove to Glenwood Springs with a couple of stops along the way. Our first stop was Idaho Springs. Braylon was hungry so we stopped at a park there. He swung on the swings which he really liked and went down the slide with mommy - he didn't like that quite so much. It was his first time on a slide and I think it was a bit fast for him. After playing and watching the rafters go by we headed back on the road. The next stop was Vail for a potty break. That stop wasn't as exciting, but much needed none-the-less. :)

Glenwood Springs was a lot of fun. We went swimming at the hot springs which Braylon really enjoyed. His first experience at the pool was not a good one so we were a little worried that he might not like it but he loved it. This water was much warmer than the first pool he tried. Daddy can't wait until Braylon's big enough to throw across the pool and be diving buddies with. Mommy is enjoying the calmer stage while it lasts.

After the pool we went to a great restaurant somewhat near our hotel called Rivers. They have balcony seating with a great view of the river and mountains. The food was delicious! There was even a band playing - Grandpa Tim would have loved the music cause they played lots of his favorite songs.

Saturday we stopped at some wineries in Palisades recommended by Grandpa Bob. This stop was purely for mommy and daddy's enjoyment. Braylon slept. :)

We headed off to Great-Grandma Marge's house from there. We thought it would be nice to share a bottle of the delicious wine we'd bought at the vineyard's, but alas grandma doesn't quite have a taste for wine. Oh well; John and I polished it off just the same! It was Braylon's first time meeting his great-grandma. She was thrilled with the visit. She absolutely loved meeting her new great-grandson and was so happy to be able to finally hold him. Grandma said that there is no denying who the father is; so I guess my plans for passing him off as Brad Pitt's lovechild will have to be shelved. Steamer was super excited to have company too. He did really well with Braylon - he just wanted to lick him non-stop! It was great seeing Grandma. We had a really nice visit.

Sounds like a fun little road trip! I love the comment about not being able to pass little Braylon off as Brad Pitt's love child because he looks so much like his daddy. *hahah* I can't wait to see pictures!
