A Weekend Away

Last weekend, John and I left Braylon for an entire weekend. He stayed with Grandma Mel and Grandpa Bob Friday night and with Grandma Lois Saturday night. We went to Rock Jam in Grand Junction with my parents, brothers -including Jeff, our cousin Tierra, and friends - Brittany, Ann, Durand. It was a blast. I think the favorites were Kid Rock, Poison, and Joan Jett. There were 5 other bands too. We missed our little guy, but it was nice to be baby free for a little while and really let loose. We had a great time.

Grandma Mel told me all about Braylon's stay with her and grandpa. They had a dinner party that night with family still in town for the wedding. Braylon was the hit of the party. As soon as Uncle Brandon heard he was going to be there, he showed up an hour early for extra baby time. :)

Grandma Mel says, "I realize I may be a bit biased - but he is one of the happiest babies I've ever seen... He loves to socialize and flirt and has a big grin and a laugh for everyone...".

He was very intrigued by grandma's cats, they all checked him out (from a distance) except Wilson who jumped into his bed to get a closer look (for about 2 seconds) the minute Braylon started talking to him Wilson left and didn't return to the bedroom until the crib was gone.

In the morning, Braylon and Grandpa had some one on one time while grandma slept in a bit. She said that they were having the greatest time when she got up.

Grandma Lois said that they had a great time as well. As she would put it, "Braylon leaks a lot." Meaning he spits up frequently. She thinks maybe the flap that's supposed to close off the stomach is underdeveloped. We are going to talk to the pediatrician about it next week.

Atley, grandma's boxer, was very excited to see Braylon when he first arrived. Her whole body shook with excitement as it usually does when she has guests, but then she calmly nestled in and laid right next to wherever Braylon was for the remainder of the weekend. Grandma said that Atley doesn't usually bark or growl at little noises, but she did that weekend. She was protecting her baby. :)

John and I can't thank you three enough for taking care of Braylon for the weekend. We're glad you had such a wonderful time with him. We know he enjoyed his stay with you all as well!
